Copa Mundial Watch Party?

The World Cup of Soccer starts on November 20, 2022 and goes for several weeks. There are sure to be some exciting games. Would you like to watch with some Piedmont Latinos? Drop us an email and let us know where you'll be watching and we'll send folks your way. Here are some ideas below:

The New Parkway

474 24th St. // Oakland

Flat screen TV? Child's play. Watch all 64 games on a proper cinema screen at The New Parkway. Supporting the local independent film community and your team is a win-win. Full schedule here.

Oakland Athletic Club

59 Grand Ave. // Oakland

40 screens. Forty. Four-zero. And World Cup games on all of them. Starting at 6 am sharp because they don't play around. Food service starts at 7 am. Go for brunch. Order the Sandy Kofax. Thank us later.

CommonWealth Cafe & Public House

2882 Telegraph Ave. // Oakland

Don't just take our word for it. CommonWealth Cafe & Public House just ranked third in Time.com's list of the ten best bars in America to watch the World Cup. Chalk it up to the hub's commitment to playing all the games, no matter how early. Long story short: CommonWealth is always a good time, especially during this time. Find the full schedule here.

Our Inaugural Event!

On Sunday, March 27, 2022 The Grupo Latino de Piedmont launched with over 75 community members joining in Piedmont Park for a potluck and socializing. There were foods from Spain to the Caribbean to all corners of Latin America. We ate, we spoke Spanglish, we swayed to the music and we laughed. See you at the next one.

Dia de los Muertos Ofrenda

In late October 2022, members of the Piedmont community led by Piedmont resident and Havens parent Raquel Navarro built a beautiful ofrenda to honor the departed. The display included information about the holiday and symbolism as well as a craft project for students to create their own papel picado.
